Apollo Automotive has come to be what it is through a passion for high quality engineering and the love we have for Land Rovers.

Our family run business began with a father and son who shared a passion for Land Rovers and has since grown into a successful business focused around producing tailor made Land Rover Defenders. 

Our founder, Ieuan Davies, was born into a family with a love for Land Rovers. With his dad’s history in aerospace engineering, it was no surprise that Ieuan was hands-on with Land Rovers from a young age.

 

Ieuan received his first Land Rover, a 1975 Series 3, for his thirteenth birthday and rebuilt it two years later; a build that included a paint job using a paint brush! Thankfully, Ieuan’s painting skills have improved a lot since then, and he now has a purpose-built paint booth (and a spray gun rather than a brush!).

Studying vehicle technology at college, working as a mechanic part time and working on Land Rovers with his dad during evenings and weekends, Ieuan’s skills quickly grew. Meanwhile, Ieuan bought his second Land Rover, a 1988 90, at age sixteen, and honed his skills further by rebuilding it two years later.

 

Not content with rebuilding just their own vehicles, the father and son team began rebuilding Land Rovers for other people, and the rest, as they say, is history.
